Short version
ReadEasier does not require an account, run advertising trackers, or upload the text you enter for analysis. The reading and writing tools run in your browser.
Information stored on your device
The workspace can save your draft, comparison draft, study notes, word goal, theme, and reader preferences in your browser’s local storage. This information stays in that browser profile. You can remove it by clearing the workspace or deleting this site’s browser data.
Text-to-speech
Read-aloud uses the Web Speech features provided by your browser and operating system. Available voices and whether speech is processed locally or by a platform service depend on your device and browser. ReadEasier does not send the text to its own server.
Files
Text and Markdown files you import are read locally by the page. Exported files are created locally in your browser.
External links
Links to GitHub, Reddit, and other websites are governed by those services’ privacy practices. ReadEasier does not control them.
